Intelligence Center X Engineer - Americas
Mendix · United States
Bring Intelligence Center X to life for leading companies, through business-relevant enterprise agentic AI use cases.
About Intelligence Center X
Intelligence Center X (ICX) is Siemens' industrial AI platform. ICX combines Siemens' own core graph, ontology, machine learning and agentic AI technology with our industrial software foundations to bring truly differentiated capabilities to market. It connects a company's enterprise and operational data into an enterprise ontology, and uses machine learning and agentic AI to reason over it and act on it.
Our customers are leaders in automotive, aerospace and defense, semiconductors and electronics, industrial machinery, pharma and financial services.
How we engage with customers
Beyond typical demos, we work forward-deployed with the customer — on relevant data, against their problem — and build a working agentic AI solution, grounded in an enterprise ontology. It is how we establish value with customers: where they see the use case come to life, and where we earn the right to move forward.
Key Responsibilities
The role
As an ICX Engineer, you lead the ideation and creation of these engagements. This is a presales FDE role: you take a business problem and a complex data landscape, model the domain as an enterprise ontology, build agents and machine learning that reason over it and act on it, and deliver a working agentic application with a business case compelling the customer to invest in Intelligence Center X with Siemens.
You work alongside sales teams and strategic partners, and report to the ICX Engineering Manager for the Americas.
An example engagement
An industrial manufacturer wants its engineers to answer in minutes a question that today takes weeks of chasing across teams: what does this change affect? The answer is spread across a dozen systems that each describe the same products, parts and suppliers differently. You connect them, model how they fit together as an enterprise ontology, build an agent that reasons over the result, and show the customer what it is worth with a compelling agentic user experience.
Requirements
Who you are
You are hands-on with agentic AI and ontology. You build working things, and agentic development tools are how you work. If some of this is new to you, you will learn fast.
You are entrepreneurial. You take ownership, move at startup pace and find a route to an outcome before the problem is fully defined — with some of the largest companies in the world.
You think in business value, and you want to be in the room with customers.
Skills and experience
We look for experience or strong potential in the following areas.
Customer-facing technical communication — running working sessions with technical and business stakeholders, including when the solution is still taking shape.
Data engineering and analytics — making sense of how a company's data is spread across its systems, bringing it together and modelling it.
Modern data and AI platforms — experience working with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Google Cloud, AWS data lakes, Palantir or C3.ai.
Agentic AI — designing agents and AI solutions grounded in enterprise data: LLMs, retrieval, tool use, MCP.
Agentic development tools — Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar, used to build quickly and well.
Enterprise ontology — modelling a real business domain as an ontology or knowledge graph and putting it to work in an enterprise.
Machine learning and data science — building models that solve real business problems, such as forecasting, anomaly detection or classification.
FDE, presales or innovative professional services — experience on a team that builds with customers.
Technical consulting — designing and building agentic AI, data and analytics solutions for clients at a consultancy or systems integrator.
Experience in our industries — manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, pharma, aerospace or financial services.
We hire across levels, from recent graduates to experienced data and AI professionals, with no minimum years of experience. What matters is evidence that you build, and the drive to do it with customers.
Travel
Some travel is expected, up to 25%. For people who want to spend even more time on site with customers, there is room for it.
