Senior Risk Manager, Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) - Sustainability
Amazon · Luxembourg, Luxembourg
The RISC International team is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to own and drive the EU Online Age Verification (OAV) program across EU and UK Amazon stores. Age Verification ensures that customers purchasing age-restricted products such as e-cigarettes, bladed products, and 18+ rated video games, are verified as legally eligible through a multi-layered system of controls applied and integrated across the entire purchase journey.
This is a cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of regulatory compliance, product safety, technology, and customer experience. The successful candidate will manage the program’s reporting and governance infrastructure, lead phased technology launches across multiple stores, drive data governance standards for regulatory reporting, and serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Public Policy, Product, Operations, and regional compliance teams. You will brief senior leadership on program health, regulatory risk exposure, and business impact, and you will shape the strategic direction of age verification controls as the regulatory landscape evolves.
Key job responsibilities
•Own end-to-end management of the EU Age Verification program across EU and UK stores, ensuring compliance with local and regional age restriction regulations to protect minors.
•Design, maintain, and continuously improve scalable reporting frameworks that provide senior leadership with visibility into verification performance, business impact, compliance coverage, and regulatory engagement across jurisdictions.
•Lead phased technology launches for new OAV mechanisms, coordinating daily across Product, Legal, Operations, Customer Service, and regional compliance teams.
•Define and enforce data governance standards for regulatory reporting, including classification audits and escalation protocols for classification accuracy issues.
•Drive structured escalation management by integrating program incidents into post-incident review methodologies, enabling systematic root-cause analysis and proactive risk mitigation.
•Author strategy documents, solutions assessments, and onboarding materials that consolidate the program’s regulatory architecture and strategic pillars.
•Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings on program health, risk exposure, business impact, and regulatory developments.
